Teshuvah, Day 39

This is Day 9 of the Ten Days of Awe.

He has a plan, though we may not see it.

Psalm 27:13 “I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of YHWH in the land of the living!”

This is a continuation of the previous verse, where David prays to be saved from his adversaries who breathe out violence against him. Though he may be in danger of death, he trusts that God will deliver him in this life.

Romans 8:27-28 “And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

We can rest assured that whatever we go through, God will use it for His good. We may not understand it. We may be hurting because of it, but God has a purpose for everything. Whether that draws us closer to Him or further away is up to us individually. Keep close to Him.

Psalm 145:18-19 “YHWH is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.”

Pray for understanding when you can’t see His plan. Cry out to Him and He will save you and pull you through the tough times.

This day coordinates with the ninth day of creation.

Tomorrow is Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement. I posed a question last year asking why Yom Kippur was on the 10th of the seventh month. Here’s my theory. What if Adam and Eve sinned on the ninth day? The very first Sabbath had passed and Adam and Eve had a perfect day together on the eighth day. But the serpent came to her on the ninth day and they ate of the forbidden fruit. So God made atonement for them after the sunset making it the 10th day of creation.

Here’s an article posted in the Spring of 2023. I mentioned this same thing at the end of that post.
