Teshuvah, Day 34

This is Day 4 of the Ten Days of Awe.

These are days of trouble.

Psalm 27: 5 “For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will lift me high upon a rock.”

We may feel abandoned in times of trouble, but God promises to shelter us and protect us. That may seem unbelievable in these days of trauma and destruction, but His ways are not our ways. We cannot comprehend why he allows the death of some people, but we can have confidence that He has a plan for us.

Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the YHWH encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.”

It is believed that the angel of YHWH is a pre-incarnate version of the Messiah. And Yeshua promised to be with us even to the ends of the earth. (Matthew 28:20).

Psalm 145:8-9 “YHWH is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9 YHWH is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made.”

This was written before the Messiah came. YHWH showed His mercy by sending His Son to die. And we have the assurance that Yeshua will save us. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

This day coordinates with the fourth day of creation.

Genesis 1:14-19 “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.’ And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.”
