Teshuvah, Day 36

This is Day 6 of the Ten Days of Awe.

Seek Him. He is faithful to His Word.

Psalm 27:8-9 “You have said, ‘Seek My face.’ My heart says to You, ‘Your face, YHWH, do I seek.’ 9 Hide not Your face from me. Turn not Your servant away in anger, O You who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!”

Hebrews 11:6 in the Legacy Standard Version (LSV) says, “and apart from faith it is impossible to please [Him], for it is required of him who is coming to God to believe that He exists and [that] He becomes a rewarder to those seeking Him.” I learned this verse as a kid from the KJV which ends with, “those who DILIGENTLY seek Him.” As long as we are seeking Him, He will be our salvation.

Psalm 143:1-2, 7-10
“Hear my prayer, O YHWH; give ear to my pleas for mercy! In Your faithfulness answer me, in Your righteousness! 2 Enter not into judgment with Your servant, for no one living is righteous before You. 7 Answer me quickly, O YHWH! My spirit fails! Hide not Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. 8 Let me hear in the morning of Your steadfast love, for in You I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. 9 Deliver me from my enemies, O YHWH! I have fled to You for refuge. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God! Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground!”

I shared 1 John 1:9 just a few days ago, but it fits here again. “If we may confess our sins, He is steadfast and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from every unrighteousness.” Sometimes we fail Him and feel like we can’t come back and ask for forgiveness again. 1 John 2:1 says, “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Messiah Yeshua the righteous.”

Psalm 145:13 “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. [YHWH is faithful in all His Words and kind in all His works.]”

We can trust Him. He is eternal. His Word is eternal. And His kingdom is eternal. He is faithful, always.

This day coordinates with the sixth day of creation.

Genesis 1:24-31 “And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.’ And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ 27 So God created man in His Own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ 29 And God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.’ And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.”
